Construction at Disney Coronado Springs

Hello Travelers!

Big things are happening at Disney World!

Some exciting projects, new & reimagined rides are being built, fantastic lands are forming, yummy restaurants are being added and Disney’s technology continues to advance!

Two of the four moderate resorts are being reimagined!

Coronado Springs is getting its rooms updated, and a new fifteen-story conference center is going up.  In addition to conference space, Coronado will get 500 more rooms and beautiful waterfront dining.

Next, we have the total overhaul of the Caribbean Beach.  Several villages have been removed, making way for the new extended Centertown (Caribbean’s dining and shopping hub).  The reimagined Caribbean Beach will address some issues guest have had for years, including long transportation waits and rooms that will sleep 5 guests at moderate prices.   The space will also make room for a new Disney Vacation Club Resort on Caribbean Beach called Riviera, a first for a Vacation Club to be added on to a moderate resort! (If the Caribbean stays moderate!)

But the biggest news and construction project is the new Disney Skyliner.

The Skyliner will be a whole new way to get around Disney property-- a gondola system!  This new form of transport will make a loop, encompassing International Gateway at Epcot, The Boardwalk, Central hub at Caribbean Beach, Hourglass Lake (the lake between Art of Animation and Pop Century) and back. These gondola cars will be completely contained, air-conditioned and will give the best views of Disney property! (Projected completion by the end of 2018)
