My husband, Jason and I were able to go on a fabulous, romantic trip to Disney World the week after Thanksgiving, and it was so great! Late November/early December is my first-choice time to visit Disney; with lower crowds, nice weather and Christmas everywhere!
We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort: a quiet Southwestern themed moderate resort. While there are room renovations going on and they are building a large tower addition, the construction didn’t bother us at all. We were in a non-refurbished room for this trip; the room was a bit worn but still beautiful and comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The grounds are beautiful around the lake, with mature succulents and cactus plants, and a wonderful Mayan themed main pool plus 6 quiet pools to choose from. Being a larger resort there are 4 bus stops in the dedicated resort bus system, so buses arrive every 20 minutes.
I love Disney parks during the daytime, but walking through the parks after the sun goes down is amazing. When it’s decorated for Christmas you get the bonus of all the trees, decorations, and snow falling (without the cold of Michigan). So gorgeous! The rides are always amazing. We were able to ride Soarin’ 3 times (with some extra Pixie Dust) and all of our other favorites, including lots of roller coasters I normally wouldn’t ride. But this was our anniversary trip: bring on the adventure!
Jason and I also purchased the Memory Maker, so we have lots of photos of us together to remember it all and some fun magic shots taken by the Disney PhotoPass photographers.
It really was a magical trip!
